Introduction *

This web site is a new tool to identify putative Protein Phosphatase 1 (PP1) binding proteins. This subgroup-site of the Swissprot library contains protein sequences selected on the basis of the simultaneous presence of two distinct consensus motifs, [RK]-x-(0,1)-V-x-F and F-x-x-[RK]-x-[RK], involved in the recognition and binding of proteins that interact with the PP1 catalytic subunit (PP1c). The PP1signature.pasteur.fr web site is designed to help scientists already working in the Protein Phosphatase field, and who are interested in identifying new putative PP1-interacting candidates, as well as other interested in exploring this specialized field and its applicability to their own projects. This page will be permanently maintained and updated by Dr.Alphonse Garcia (Institut Pasteur) and any relevant information concerning the identification and characterization of new PP1 interacting proteins should be sent to following address (if possible as soon as your publication is accepted) pp1signature@pasteur.fr
